yum update without dependencies

yum doesn't have an option to skip dependencies. To update a package installed with yum when its dependencies were compiled or installed outside of yum, use rpm instead.

rpm --test -Uvh --nodeps $(repoquery --location cacti)

If the output looks good, run again without --test. This will update the cacti package without also installing packages for httpd, php, etc.
